General Descriptions:

IFT-203 Interfacial Tension Meter is used to measure interfacial tension between oil and water. The interaction force between molecules form the interfacial tension or surface tension of liquids. The size of tension value can reflect the physical and chemical properties of liquids and their material composition. It is one of the important indicators for related industries to investigate the quality of products. This product is suitable for GB/T6541 and ASTM D971 standard. Based on ring method (platinum ring method), the surface tension (liquid gas interface) and interfacial tension (liquid liquid interface) of various liquids are measured. This method has the advantages of simple operation and high accuracy and is widely used. It is widely used in power, petroleum, chemical, pharmaceutical, food, teaching and other industries.

Interfacial tension between the water and oil interface is the way to measure the attractive molecular force between water and oil. in Dyne/cm or milli-Newton/meter. Interfacial tension is exactly useful for determining the presence of polar contaminants and oil decay products. Good new oil generally exhibits high interfacial tension. Oil oxidation contaminants lower the IFT.
